Bill & Sarah ThorneAbacus Removals was set up in 1985 by the current owner, Bill Thorne, as a means to get rich quick with the minimum of effort. Alas, the real world had different ideas, and it has taken the past couple of decades or more to realise that the only way to be successful in the removal business is to work all the hours under the sun, trying to keep everyone happy.

The addition of a very pretty wife Sarah in 1992 meant a tidy office, an efficient secretary, a reason to believe, and many hours less in the Clothiers Arms in Rodborough.

Part of our current fleetFrom humble beginnings - one ex-P.O. Luton van complete with driver for £7.00 per hour - to the current four vans, full-time trained staff, dry and secure storage facilities and a Nationwide and European service - it's been a laugh a minute from start to finish.

We approach each job with an air of optimism and sublime efficiency, happy just to be able to hump your things into a van, drive down the road and then hump them out again.

The fullfilment is total. And we get paid for it. What a job!

On a more serious note, as you may have noticed, we do try to lighten the load, metaphorically speaking, and make removal day a day to remember for all the right reasons. Our primary aim is to move you painlessly and economically, offering as much support as is required to get you through the removal without stress, trauma and worry. There, that's enough serious stuff.

The Bihar Project
